Here you find some general information regarding visa regulations, Schengen regulations, aliens law, asylum law and law on nationality.
You will also find information sheets for short stay (Schengen) visas and visas for longer stays as well as the corresponding application forms.
Short stay (Schengen) visas entitle the holder to visits to Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain and Sweden.
For Germans resident abroad, the German missions abroad are the most important liaison point with Germany for all legal matters. Here we will tell you about our principal services and the procedures used.
A new passport act has entered into force 1 November 2007, that requires German passports to be issued with a chip containing biometric data such as fingerprints. Applicants for a new German passport are therefore required to come in person to the German Embassy in Port-of-Spain. Passport applications can no longer be deposited at the offices of our Honorary Consuls nor can they be sent by mail.
